How to Bid on an Auction

Holaplex has many amazing artists that host auctions on our platform! To bid in an Holaplex auction:

  1. Go to the store that is hosting the auction.

  2. Navigate to the store’s Listings page and click on the listing for the auction you’re interested in bidding in.

  3. On the page for the individual listing, you should see a button on the right-hand side of the page under the details for that auction that says Connect Your Wallet. Click on this button. A popup will appear in your wallet to connect to the Holaplex storefront. Approve the connection-- this is not a transaction and will not cost any SOL.

  4. After connecting your wallet, the button on the right-hand side of the page should now say Place Bid. Click on this button again.

  5. Clicking this button will bring you to a section where you can set the details of your bid. This card will show the current bid price or floor price of the auction, depending on if anyone else has bid or not. It will also show the amount of time you have left to place a bid.

  6. Under this information will be a text box to input how much SOL you would like to bid on the NFT. Enter how much SOL you would like to bid. As long as the amount of SOL you are bidding is more than the current bid, and your bid is larger than the minimum tick size of the auction, you should now be able to click the button that says Place Bid below the text box.

  7. A transaction to place your bid will come up. Review this transaction, then if everything looks right, approve it. The amount you bid will be instantly deducted from your wallet. The UI may get stuck loading at this step, but if you see the transaction in your wallet, it should be safe to reload the page.

  8. If you have already placed a bid on an NFT and someone else outbids you, you can raise your bid. To do this, navigate to the auction’s listing and click the Place Bid button once more. Counter with a higher bid; the additional amount will be deducted from your wallet. For example, if you bid 1 SOL on a piece, that 1 SOL will be immediately deducted when you place your bid. If someone outbids you and places a bid at 1.5 SOL, and you counter with a 2 SOL bid, the 1 SOL that you raised your bid by will be immediately deducted from your wallet as well.
